The Classroom…
Biblical Studies
Pillars’
academic programs are offered through nationally recognized
university distance education courses delivered on-site at
Wesley Acres, in a teacherfacilitated, scheduled classroom
environment. Students graduate Pillars with five university
credits; three through Briercrest and two through the University
of Saskatchewan. Students will be provided with a syllabus
for each eight week course.
Briercrest
College—Theology
Briercrest Distance Learning offers high quality education
with academically rigorous courses, written by highly credentialed
faculty, that can be transferred to numerous post-secondary
institutions nationwide. Briercrest Distance Learning students
benefit from access to their library services. An online catalogue
and online databases are available from anywhere in the world,
and students in North America may borrow books or request
to have journal articles sent to them by mail. The library
also provide extensive research links.
IS101—Evangelism
in Global Mission
This course provides a biblical base for missions. It explores
some of the biblical, historical and contemporary examples
of what it means to follow Jesus Christ and point others to
him in fulfillment of the great commission. It further teaches
what it means to sensitively and effectively represent Jesus
Christ in cultures other than our own.
BT114-Introduction
to Christian Theology
An introduction to the basic teachings of the Christian
faith, this course will include discussions both of the nature
and the task of theology, as well as the Christian understanding
of God, revelation, creation, spiritual powers and sin.
BT100-Bible
Overview
An overview of the basic content and the most prominent themes
in each of the canonical books, with special attention to
the unity that emerges from the biblical writings. |
